![]() Kelly Milner Halls is a full-time freelance writer specializing in children's
nonfiction. Hundreds of her articles have appeared in numerous publications
including the Chicago Tribune, the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the
Denver Post, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Spokesman-Review,
Boys Life, Highlights for
Halls was a regular contributing editor at Dinosaurus Magazine and The Dino Times. She writes a monthly column on children's writing for America Online's Writers Club and is the former editor of Kids Reads, America Online's grown-up guide to children's books (keywords: Kids Reads). Her first book, Dino-Trekking (John Wiley & Sons) was selected as an American Bookseller "Pick of the List" science book in 1996. She has also written Kids Go! Denver (John Muir Publications), and 365 Afterschool Activities (PIL). Her latest picture book, I Bought a Baby Chicken, will be published by Boyds Mills Press in 2000. Three other book proposals are in contractual negotiations. Halls freelance career has been profiled in both the Writers Market and the Children's Writer's and Illustrator's Market. And her bylined reports regularly appear in Writer's Digest Books publications.
