Our Hero, Dino Dog (c)1998 Dinosaur Interplanetary Gazette, TM (R) and all that stuff.

Dino Dog says: " B.O.W. (Wow!)* "

Yes, folks,  it is another amazingly blatant D.I.G. scheme (using both dinosaurs and cute animals) to get you to read kewl Dino Books, and at the same time to help us out so we can keep writing these stupid things for you to scoff at.

For every book you buy, Amazon.Com pays us a trivial pittance ("Pittance - That means barely enough to buy bubble gum." Vera). But if enough of you read these books, four things will happen:

(1) Amazon will send us checks,
(2) We will continue to eat,
(3) D.I.G. will publish articles about new dinosaurs,
(4) you might very well have a great time reading these awesome books!
Remember, you can always spite us and go to the public library and read them there for FREE! So there are ways to get even. Enough of this playing on your emotions and getting you to cry. Here are Dino Dog's favorite books.

Oh, by the way, isn't Dino Dog just the cutest little puppy you've ever seen? Can you possibly look into those deep brown eyes and turn him down? Now, where did you put your wallet?

B.O.W. Wow! Top 10 Best Sellers Count Down!
Can you believe it? Shhhh.
Some people are actually reading books that Dino Dog didn't recommend.
What are we going to do with them?
Anyway, these are D.I.G.s top, utterly best selling dino and related books and videos

The Scientific American Book of Dinosaurs
                     by Gregory s Paul (Editor)

                                    Hardcover - 432 pages 1 Ed edition (November 2000)
                     St Martins Pr (Trade); ISBN: 0312262264 ; Dimensions (in inches): 1.29 x 9.55 x 7.84
Book Description
Discover how dinosaurs evolved, how they looked, where they lived,
how they behaved, and why they died: the current state of knowledge
about the Monsters of the Mesozoic, complete in one volume.

Acclaimed dinosaur paleontologist and paleo-artist Gregory S. Paul conducts this definitive tour through
the 140-million-year existence of the most exotic and interesting group of animals ever to walk the
earth, assisted by the world's leading dinosaur experts.

Here you'll find remarkable stories about the first discoveries of dinosaur fossils, the beginnings of
dinosaur paleontology, how the field has changed with modern technology, the most sensational finds,
and the latest theories. You'll also explore the answers to such questions as:

                     •Did dinosaurs have feathers?
                     • Did dinosaurs fly?
•Were the dinosaurs sluggish, cold-blooded reptilians, or something radically different?
•What are the different dinosaur families, how were they named, and how are they related?
•What was the dinosaurs' world like, and how did it change during their reign?
•Are the birds of today the living descendants of predatory dinosaurs?
•How and why did the major dinosaur famihes become extinct?

Filled with spectacular full-color illustrations of dinosaurs in action, plus black-and-white art and
graphics. The Scientific American Book of Dinosaurs features the latest information from the field of
dinosaur paleontology, presented in a fascinating and accessible format.

You'll never think about dinosaurs the same way again!

                     About the Author
Gregory S. Paul is one of America's leading dinosaur paleontologists and also a gifted artist. For his
anatomical accuracy, he is considered among his peers to be the "definitive" paleo-artist. Paul has
worked on Disney's animated movie Dinosaur and was a consultant on the motion picture Jurassic
Park. His published work includes dozens of scientific papers in magazines and journals, and the books  Beyond Humanity, The Complete Illustrated Guide to Dinosaur Skeletons, Predetory Dinosaurs
of the World, Dinosaurs of the Air: The Evolution and Loss of Flight in the Mesozoic, and
Dinosaurs and Birds. Paul's illustrations have graced dozens of books, periodicals, and televised
specials on the fabulous beasts. His art has also been exhibited in the Smithsonian Institution's traveling exhibit and has been displayed in ten natural history museums around the world.

As you well know, dogs like bones, and Dino Dog is no exception! This swell volume tells every self respecting bone lover exactly which dinosaurs they're likely to find nearest home no matter where you live on this tiny, polluted little planet. We expect that this will save Dino Dog lots of digging! We can just see him salivating over that Gargoyleosaurus parkpinorum thigh bone right now.

Dino Guide - order directly from the publisher!Dino-Guide:The Saurian Source Book
 by John C. Fredriksen, PhD.
         Price: $19.95 plus shipping.
         Reading level: Ages 9+
         Paper - 228 pages 1 Ed edition
        SBN:0967485606

Dino Dog is very miffed! Listen to what this book says on page 71:

Dinosaur Interplanetary Gazette - "Shamelessly cheesy, tacky, and maudlin about dinosaurs; indisputably my favorite spot on the web! Indispensable for keeping up with events."

So what's wrong with that? Well, where do they mention Dino Dog? Huh? Where?

D.D. thinks you should:
a) buy a copy of the book
b) complain to the publisher
c) give the book to your dog to chew on
d) buy a second copy of the book
e) repeat steps b and c
f) repeat step d
g) keep the third copy of the book around because it has 1,200 entries about how to get anything in the world that has a dinosaur in it, on it, around it or associated with it. Indispensible, even though they are so inconsiderate of a poor, brown-eyed animal's delicate feelings. Grrrrrrrr.

Just make sure you complain so that Dino Dog gets into the second edition. Got it?

Bigger Than T. Rex : The Discovery of the Biggest Meat-Eating Dinosaur Ever Found Bigger Than T. rex

              Crown Pub; ISBN: 0517709309 ; Dimensions (in inches): 0.39 x 11.33 x 8.77

Dino Dog knows that nothing is bigger than T-Bone Wrecks. They have a deal. Dino Dog agrees with T-Bone and T-Bone doesn't eat Dino Dog. Sounds like a good deal to us! So, obviously, this book is a pack of lies. On the other hand... .

Dino Dog figures that we could buy him a whole lot of dog food with what this book costs! Yipes! One Hundred Forty Five Smackers! On the other hand, there's never been a book with this many up-to-date thingies about dino beasties. That Don Glut (did you notice that Don and Dino Dog all start with the letter "D"?) sure lives, breathes, and eats dinos! How can you live without this? We just wish Amazon had a better picture of the cover.

When Ken Carpenter (yeah, that paleontologist guy up above) was four years old, his mom took him to see Godzilla. Ken has not been the same since then, and neither has Godzilla. Dino Dog is mad that Ken's mom did not take him, too. Dino Dog thought this book was good to chew on anyway.

coverDinosaur Bob and his Adventures with the Family Lazardo

According to Dino Dog, dinosaurs are NOT supposed to be chasing cars. That is the exclusive job, duty, providence, or what have you of CANINES. Dinosaur Bob has crossed the line! Dino Dog wishes to warn you of the subversive nature of this book. REVIEW
