Biographical Notes

I was born in 1956 and raised on a farm in the Pincher Creek area of southern Alberta.

In 1979, I graduated from the sculpture department of the Alberta College of Art, Calgary, Alberta, where I met my wife, Mary Ann Wilson.

Since 1983, I have, with the assistance of Mary Ann and other artists, made sculptures of over forty dinosaurs (mostly life-sized)  for such places as:

  • The Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology, Drumheller, Alberta
  • The Academy of Natural Sciences, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
  • The Field Museum of Natural History, Chicago, Illinois
  • The South Florida Museum of Natural History (formerly Graves Museum) Dania Beach, Florida
  • Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum, Japan
  • National Museum of Natural History, Taiwan
  • Calgary International Airport
  • Disney World at Orlando, Florida, USA
  • Numerous traveling exhibits in the U.S.A., Canada, Australia, Japan and Southeast Asia

Work has appeared in five issues of National Geographic, including two front covers.

Mary Ann and I have recently published Make-A-Saurus (Annick Press) a children's book  on how to make dinosaurs.  We have two daughters.
