Dino
Site # 1 of an amazingly long series.
DINOSAUR STATE
PARK
Rocky
Hill, Connecticut, United States

You can make a real
plaster
casting of an actual dinosaur track within the domed visitor center
at this state park. But bring your own plaster of paris, liquid cooking
oil, and materials for cleanup, if you want this amazing keepsake. The
tracks are from the Jurassic period, making this the true Jurassic Park.
Just which dinosaur left the tracks is uncertain, but Dilophosaurus
is
the popular favorite -- the closest known match. A life size model of Dilophosaurus
is
on display. The outside exhibits and the visitor center were remodeled
as of the summer of 1993.
There are over 2,000 dino
tracks there! And you can look at more than 500 of them. The rest are buried
to keep them safe.
