Dinosaur School Reports! Where to get that dinosaur information you need at the very last minute.

So you went to school like usual, and you ate lunch, played basketball and everything was totally kewl. Then all of a sudden, the teacher says:
"All right, now, class (probably pronounced "klawce") please write a paper for tomorrow about paleontology."
After you stop groaning, you figure out that paleontology is about dinosaurs, so it's not quite as bad as it sounds, but it is still pretty bad.
So then what do you do?
We mean, it is better to sit and watch TV, right? And eat strudel toaster cakes. Writing a report? (B*rf).

Okay. Calm down. We are here to help.

     So what CAN you do?

  • There is all the obvious stuff. Like. You need paper and pen, or you could write it on your ankle and pull down your socks so "teach" can read it. Actually, that is way kewl and we recommend it.
  • Then you need to pick a topic. It is kewl to pick one that you think is awesome. It is way hard to stay interested if you are bored. Like. If you are a vegetarian, you could write about herbivores (they are vegie dinos, Vera). If you are a hamburger freak, write about carnivores (they are meat eating dinos, Vera)
  • Now you gotta research it. If you are already a paleontologist, you won't need to do anything except think because you've already gone to school for six hundred years and you know all this stuff already. Otherwise you are stuck. Here are some places to go for research.
    1. Libraries. You can hang out with your friends here too.
    2. The Mall Rent Jurassic Park at the Video Store. Play Video Games
    3. The Web
      • Search Engines like Yahoo, Excite, Infoseek.
      • Other Dino Sites (check out our Ultimate Dino-Links Page )
    4. Resources at The Dinosaur Interplanetary Gazette
    5. Go to a Museum and check out what they have.
    6. Ask your friends and family. But, hey! No copying, okay?

    7. PALEONTOLOGISTS

    8. Oh, do you want to grow up and become a Paleontologist? Try this link to: "So You Want to Become a Paleontologist." It has information about what to study, how the occupation really works and more. Prepared by the Dinosaur List.
    9. There's a booklet/tape set that you can buy called:
I'd Like to Be a Paleontologist : Learning About Dinosaurs, Fossils and                      Prehistoric Life
      (I'd Like to Be A - Series , No 421)
      1.         by Kim M. Thompson, Mark Paskiet (Illustrator), Karen M. Hilderbrand
                List Price: $9.98
                Audio Cassette - 24 pages Bk&cassett edition (April 1996)
        Twin Sisters Productions; ISBN: 1575830167 ; Dimensions (in inches): 0.78 x 11.28x7.85
  • Then, well. Then. Ummm. Then.  You have to sit down and write it all down. You know, sentences, punctuation. All that good stuff. Paper is good, too.
  • Then you get to eat dinner and watch TV and run around and make noise and trash all your Star Wars action figures with all your Jurassic Park action figures.

  • So that was pretty simple, right?
