The war has separated not only North and South, but also husband and wife and children.
The children -- "Bamie" (the eldest girl) who is nine, Eliott who is four and Corinne who is three -- miss him terribly.
Not so with the other child, who is six.
Theodore, Junior (the boy yet to be president) carries the nickname: "Teedie."
